What a special and adventurous few days we had motorbiking around the beautiful Ha Giang Province, without a doubt the highlight of our trip to Vietnam! The places we saw and the people are very special.
The landscapes of the Ha Giang province are absolutely breathtaking, among the most beautiful I have ever seen ! And you will not see as many tourists as other places of Vietnam.
Overview
The average speed of driving on the mountian roads is 35 km per hour. The distances between the destinations are viewed as follows:
Hanoi – 300km – Ha Giang City – 100km – Yen Minh Town – 75km – Meo Vac Town – 155km – Ha Giang City – 300km- Hanoi
Accommodation is expected to be basic but the top of the areas will be used for your best confort possible. Food is very local, too. There is no western food to expect except bread, fried eggs for breakfast at some places. Meals are at local food stores but we always choose the most acceptable one.
Itinerary
Travel by motorcycle (_Car ) tour to visit Ha Giang highlands. From Ha Giang you will go up to Dong Van karst plateau geopark via Quan Ba heavens gate – with an altitude over 1000 meters compared to the sea level you will have some panoramas pictures before go down hill to peasful town of Tam Son (Quan Ba) with the fairy twin mountain.
We are going to Yen Minh town for Lunch, after lunch we continue to the northernmost point of Vietnam fatherland. On the way we are going to visit the Hmong kings palace before go to the north of Dong Van area and stay in LoLo village. LoLo is a small village of LoLo people tribe. They are living in the northern of Vietnam its very close to China country, then take a short walk up to Vietnam’s northernmost point – Lung Cu flagpole. It is not only for a beautiful mountain landscape views from the top of dragons mountaint you also can see some of Chinees villages around the borderland.
Down hill to the villages then relax and take shower befor the dinner.
Stay overnight with local family homestay.
Atter breakfast we will leave the homestay to Dong van town.
After 2 hours on the bike we stop in Dong Van town, take a rest and enjoy a cup of coffee in Dongvan old quarter.
Before to drive to Meo Vac town via Ma Pi Leng pass. The most beautiful pass in Vietnam, majestic landscape,… deepest valley Southeast Asia. Then we will Have lunch in Meo Vac town.
After lunch continue t After to Bao Lac by motorcycle, walk around and spend one night at the hotel in Bao Lac.
One day travel on the super quite mountains road.
You could see a lot of nice view and many differents villages of minorities people as Hmong, Dao and Tay …
Around 5pm you will arrive in a homestay of Nung people the village that people making incense sticks for ancestors worshiping.
After breakfast we will start for Ban Gioc waterfall the biggest waterfall in Viet Nam that we have.
Ban Gioc Waterfall on the Quy Xuan River is located in Cao Bang Province, nears the Sino-Vietnamese border. The waterfall falls thirty meters. It is separated into three falls by rocks and trees, and the thundering effect of the water hitting the cliffs can be heard kilometers away from Trung Khanh. After come back stay one more night in Cao Bang city.
One more dat travel by motorbike from Cao bang to Ba Be national park .
Follow the mountain road to Ba Be national park. We may arrive early in Babe lake then we will have time to go inside the national park to Pac Ngoi village. From here you could walk around the village otherwise we also have options go to visit the villages around by bike.
Stay overnight in Pac Ngoi village with their homestay.
You will have small covered boat trip to travel around the lakes and up stream of Nang river to visit the Puong cave, ride down the river to Dau Dang to have lunch.
PM: Walk to the waterfall in Dau Dang, then walk back to the boat to get back to the homestay in Pac Ngoi, stay there one more night or we will have a local bus pick you up to Ha Noi at 4 pm then you will be in Ha Noi around 9 pm.
